As we all know by now, culture places a large emphasis on their external beauty and health. Something Asians are particularly well known for is that they care passionately about the health and appearance of their skin. That being said, amongst the countless beauty products they promote and produce, one of the most popular items are face masks. This time Asia has taken a step further in spicing things up by creating a new style to accompany the perfect addition to any skincare routine. Animal Face Masks!

Face masks are a beauty product you apply to your skin for a short period of time. Unlike liquid makeup or BB-cream, which are meant to be worn throughout the day, the purpose of these face masks is to make your skin healthier by introducing them into your regular skincare regime.  While this is great for your skin, anyone who has ever worn a typical face mask can tell you that you do not exactly look camera ready. Especially when walking around covered in some kind of thick, oddly colored paste. While not the most flattering product in your beauty regime, these face masks are easier to apply and are incredibly healthy for you and serve a large variety of benefits such as moisturizing, evening skin tone, and cleaning pores. It is also a lot more fun to take funny selcas (selfies) in, too! While these are popular and created all over the world, Korean face masks are specifically becoming a highly desired import due to their effectiveness.

However, these days, there is one specific face mask that has been gaining popularity recently, and it is one that tackles the unglamorous appearance of face masks. The newest trend in Korea now is to use these adorable face masks that resemble various character faces. You can get them in a wide variety of prints, however by far the most popular –and cutest –are the animals and mythical creatures! While there are several brands that carry their own version, the SNP brand is by far the most popular and easiest to obtain. For those who aren’t in Korea, it is made available through most online vendors, such as Amazon at a fairly reasonable price.

What is even more unique about these masks is that each one is not the same, and we don’t mean just by the print! Every animal has a slightly different formula that is used for targeting a different problem area. For example, the Panda mask is used for whitening, the Dragon mask is for soothing, the Sea Otter mask is for moisture, and the Tiger Mask is for getting rid of fine lines and wrinkles. There are countless others you are able to get for a wide variety of purposes. They all use non-toxic ingredients and are FDA approved, making it perfectly fine, and fun, for children to use as well!

Many people that have reviewed the product reported that these masks are most effective when used regularly and have not claimed any ill side effects from their use. To be honest though, the selling point and popularity of this product is due to its cute design and everyone is loving it! Regardless, they are a continuously growing trend worldwide and maybe one day we can expect to find these products on our own store shelves or at the nearest K-Town FaceShop.
